Taihe Institute was founded in March 2013 to carry out non-profit research and exchange activities. It works with a number of stakeholders to fulfill its roles. Specifically, it carries out research on its own initiative or at the request of the authorities and offers suggestions for their decision making. By partnering with media organizations at home and abroad and building its own media matrix, it voices its insightful, fact-based opinions to global audiences. In addition, it has set up overseas research centers and built good relationships with international institutions and media to promote exchanges in various fields and improve mutual understanding between China and other countries. At home, through the Taihe Advanced Science and Technology Research Center and a series of activities held by Taihe Academy, it helps local governments broaden their horizons and improve their performance, while facilitating interactions between Chinese youth and their foreign peers residing in China.
