TI and Huawei Co-Host GDI Symposium 2024

The Global Digitalization Index (GDI) Symposium 2024, co-hosted by Taihe Institute (TI) and Huawei, was successfully held on December 10, 2024 in Beijing. The event was moderated by Einar Tangen, Senior Fellow of Taihe Institute. The speakers included Jessica Song, Chief Analyst of the GDI Report, Warwick Powell, Senior Fellow of Taihe Institute, Yen Tseng, former Vice President at Microsoft and IBM, and JianJiang Feng, Associate Professor at the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University.

The moderator and speakers discussed topics related to the GDI and the future of technology. Key areas of interest included sustainability, data sovereignty, the importance of multilateral cooperation in data industry, 5G and high-tech development, paradigm shifts in supply chain management driven by automation, and the importance of digital equity and development in up-and-coming nations. Speakers in attendance offered their insights on the GDI report and emphasized its potential applications in areas including market selection for private entities and potential as context for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and global development initiatives.
