Arab Media Delegation Visits TI

On September 5, 2024, a delegation led by People's Daily with representatives from major Arab media outlets visited Taihe Institute (TI), and engaged in discussions with TI senior fellows. The exchange focused on the global implications of Chinese modernization as well as the present and future of Sino-Arab relations.

The media delegation represented various mainstream outlets in the region, including newspaper "El Moudjahid Daily" and "Elkhabar" from Algeria, Albilad Press from Bahrain, newspaper "Al-Gomhuria" from Egypt, Iraq Radios and Televisions Union and newspaper "Al Zaman" from Iraq, newspaper "Al-Seyassah Daily" and electronic newspaper "Al-Arab" from Kuwait, "China in Arab Eyes" website, Annahar Media Group, and newspaper "Al Akhbar" from Lebanon, "MandaRIM" website from Mauritania, newspaper "Assahifa" from Morocco, newspaper "Al-Arab" from Qatar, newspaper "Al Watan" from Saudi Arabia, the General Organization of Radio and TV from Syria, the Emirates News Agency from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Aden Satellite Channel TV and newspaper "Althawrah" from Yemen.

Deputy Director Li Zhiqiang and Deputy Division Director of International Cooperation Liu Rui from the External Relations Department of People's Daily, TI Senior Fellows Wu Yihong and Xie Maosong, TI Editor-in-Chief Song Xiaofeng, and TI Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Jin joined the meeting.

During the event, participants conducted in-depth exchanges on the issues of mutual concern. Going forward, Taihe Institute will take this as an opportunity to enhance communication and cooperation with Arab media, thus improving mutual understanding between China and Arab nations.
