Job Title: Communications Assistant (Internship)
Job Functions: Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Writing/Editing/Translating
We are seeking a Communications Assistant to expand Taihe's outreach and profile in and outside China. This position will work closely with program staff in China and the central communications team in Beijing to enhance the institute's work. It requires a broad range of professional communications skills, including writing, editing, translating, content development, event management, social media, etc. The position will be based in Beijing.
Job Responsibilities
Communications strategies and coordination:
Work closely with research teams (people-to-people exchange, international politics, religion, science and technology, education, culture, finance and economics, etc.) to support design and deliver effective and impactful communications strategies, plans and activities.
Support communications activities and events, including arranging and sending out media invitations and overseeing the design and production of event materials.
Provide photo support to China research teams.
Writing & Editing
Support program teams to write and edit press releases, online articles, brochures, and other communications materials both in English and Chinese.
Media Relations
Support research teams to write and edit materials for distribution to news media, including press releases, advisories, commentaries, etc.
Taihe Institute and Taihe Civilizations Forum website maintenance and online communications,
develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibilities of Taihe at global social media outlets.
Work closely with research teams to develop contents and update social media outlets.
Publication, Quality Control and Translation
Review research materials and support the research teams to ensure that they are written and presented in a way that is consistent with Taihe's quality standards.
Oversee the development of communications materials, including contracting translators, designers, and printing house, to ensure timely and high-quality production of materials.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Excellent writing and spoken skills in Chinese and English is a must.
Excellent interpersonal skills and passionate to work with people across all levels and with different cultures.
Commitment to Taihe's mission and values.
Prior engagement in international affairs is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other collaborative work platforms.
Duration: on-site 6 months or more
